Announcement of the election of the candidate for the position of the dean of the Reformed Theological Faculty of J. Selye University

The Academic Senate of the Reformed Theological Faculty of J. Selye University (hereinafter referred to as “AS RTF JSU“) announces the election of the candidate for the position of the dean of the RTF JSU according to Art. 37c, point 7 of the JSU Statute and JSU internal regulation Principles of electing the candidate for the dean of the JSU faculty and accepting the proposal to dismiss the dean of the J. Selye University faculty (Art. 38, point 1, paragraph n) of the JSU Statute).

Election date: 13 February 2025

Process and schedule of election:

Any member of the RTF JSU academic community can submit a proposal for a candidate for the dean of the RTF  JSU.

Candidate proposals for the dean of the RTF JSU are submitted non-anonymously and in a written form to the chair of the AS RTF  JSU, from  10 October to 14 November 2024, 12:00 p.m. through the JSU registry office in the prescribed form (Proposal sheet see attached).

Until 28 November 2024, the chair of the AS RTF JSU ensures a written statement of approval of the proposed candidates indicating their consent with their candidacy for the dean of the RTF JSU and with the processing of personal data for the needs of the election of the candidate for the dean of the RTF JSU, their structured professional CV, a proposal for the development strategy of the RTF JSU and an extract from the criminal record register not older than 3 months.

Until 5 December  2024, the chair of the AS RTF JSU publishes the list of candidates for the dean of the RTF  JSU on the official board of the JSU and on the website of the RTF JSU.

A public hearing of applicants is part of the election to fill the position of the dean of the RTF JSU. The public hearing of the applicants will be held on 11 February 2025. The public hearing will be held so that members of the RTF JSU academic community and representatives of the public have the opportunity to ask questions from the candidates for the position of dean. The public hearing will be broadcast live on the JSU website and the full record of the public hearing will be published on the JSU website no later than 12 February 2025. The record of the public hearing will be published until 14 February 2025.

During the public hearing, the leadership experience and management skills of the applicants, their relationship to higher education, science and technology, and their relationship to the mission and the area of activity of the RTF JSU are examined. At the same time, the candidates for the position of the dean will present their proposal for the development strategy of the RTF JSU.

The candidate for the position of the dean of the RTF JSU is elected by an election assembly convened by the chair of the AS RTF JSU no later than 28 January 2025.The election of the candidate for the position of the dean of the RTF JSU will take place on 13 February 2025, at the election assembly.

The election of the Dean of the SJE RTK shall be carried out in accordance with the corresponding internal prescriptions

The results of the election of the candidate for the dean of the RTF JSU are announced by the chair of the AS RTF JSU until 14 February 2025. The dean of the RTF JSU is appointed by the rector for a four-year term on the basis of the results of the election.

Announcement of the election of the candidate for the position of the rector of J. Selye University

The Academic Senate of J. Selye University (hereinafter referred to as “AS JSU“) announces the election of the candidate for the position of the rector of JSU according to JSU internal regulation Principles of electing the candidate for the rector of JSU  and accepting the proposal to dismiss the rector of J. Selye University (Art. 2, point 1).

Election date: 6 November 2024

Process and schedule of election:

Any member of the JSU academic community and the member of the JSU Board of Trustees (hereinafter referred to as BT JSU) can submit a proposal for a candidate for the position of the rector of JSU. Rector candidate proposals are submitted non-anonymously and in a written form to the chair of the AS JSU, from 15 June 2024 to 9 October, 12:00 p.m. through the JSU registry office. Proposals received after this period will be disregarded.

Until 18 October 2024, the chair of the AS JSU ensures a written statement of approval of the proposed candidates indicating their consent with their candidacy for the JSU rector position and with the processing of personal data for the needs of the election of the candidate for the JSU rector position, their structured professional CV and an extract from the criminal record register not older than 3 months.

Until 22 October 2024, the chair of the AS JSU publishes the list of candidates for the JSU rector position on the official board of JSU, in the Academic Information System, through e-mail to the members of the JSU academic community and the members of the BT JSU and on the JSU website.

The candidate for the rector position is elected by the election assembly, the members of which are all members of the AS JSU and all members of the BT JSU. The election assembly is convened and managed by the chair of the AS JSU.

During the meeting of the election assembly, the public hearing of the candidates for the position of the rector of JSU is held in alphabetical order. The election assembly and the public hearing of the candidates will be held on 4 November 2024.

The public hearing will be held so that members of the JSU academic community and representatives of the public have the opportunity to ask questions from the candidates for the position of rector. The public hearing will be broadcast live on the JSU website and the full record of the public hearing will be published on the JSU website no later than 5 November 2024. The record of the public hearing will be published until 7 November 2024. During the public hearing, the leadership experience and management skills of the applicants, their relationship to higher education, science and technology, and their relationship to the mission and the area of activity of JSU are examined. At the same time, the candidates for the position of the rector will present their proposal for the development strategy of JSU. Upon the decision of the election assembly, further information can be requested from the candidates.

The candidate for the position of the rector of JSU is elected by an election assembly on 6 November 2024. The results of the election of the candidate for the rector of JSU are announced by the chair of the AS JSU.

The rector is appointed and dismissed by the president of the Slovak Republic. The proposal for the appointment or the proposal for the dismissal of the rector is submitted to the president by the Minister of Education, to whom the chair of the AS JSU submits it within 15 calendar days from the adoption of the relevant resolution.
