General informations

The dormitory is to provide accommodation for full-time students and employees of the university on 6 floors. The building consists of 2 wings. The majority of the accommodation facilities in 1st. wing consists of 3-bed rooms with a private renovated bathroom. Dormitory facilities include study rooms and well equipped kitchens on each floor. The kitchens are equipped with a refrigerator, electric stove, oven, microwave oven and sink.

In the 2nd wing, the dormitory provides accommodation for university students in rooms with 2 or 3 beds. Two rooms share a renovated bathroom. Each floor has a study room and a kitchen for students, equipped with a refrigerator, electric stove, oven, microwave oven and sink.

Broadband Internet access (both LAN network and Wi-Fi) is provided free of charge in the dormitory. On the ground floor, there is a high-performance multifunction printer connected to the university network that can also be used by students, as well as a communal room and dining room. There is a laundry and room for ironing on the ground floor. Students can use the gym and play table tennis as well.

A beautiful landscaped area is waiting for the visitor in front of the dormitory. The multifunctional track located next to the dormitory provides an excellent opportunity to play sports and enjoy your free time.

The cost of dormitory room is 70 € /person for a month.

Dormitory application and admission are governed by the Dormitory Rules and Admission Regulations of J. Selye University. The document includes the rights and duties of the Accommodated Person and the Accommodation Provider as well. Settlement of disciplinary cases is also included.

By enrolling in the dormitory and signing the Contract for Accommodation, each student declares that he/she has taken note of and abides by the above regulations. The regulations can be found in the menu of Documents.

Students admitted to the dormitory are obliged to pay the accommodation fee by bank transfer, in addition to paying a deposit, monthly or in one amount per semester in advance. The conditions and details of this are specified in the Contract for Accommodation, which can also be found on the website.

Students are provided information about the exact room allocation via AIR (Academic Information System). The coupon confirming the payment of the dormitory and deposit fee must be presented when enrolling in the dormitory. In case of the absence of these supporting documents, the student cannot enroll in the dormitory.

Accommodation requriments - first year students

Dear First Year Students!

Please find below the summary of process how dormitory rooms are allocated to our students.

It is possible to apply for dormitory accommodation by filling out the "Electronic feedback" you have access to in the AIR (Academic Information System) in menu bar "Dorm accommodation" (Szállás/Ubytovanie).

The planned date of assessment of applications is second half of July 2024. You will obtain information about residence allocation via AIR and by e-mail.

The date of dormitory enrollment: first half of September

Required documents for enrollment:

- Receipt confirming the payment of dormitory fee (printed)
- Student ID card (if you already have it)
- Stamp

Printed documents:

- CONTRACT FOR ACCOMMODATION (filled out in 2 copies)
- HOUSING RESPONSIBILITY

If the dormitory room cannot occupied by the student until the specified date, the student is obliged to indicate this by e-mail and request a new date by August 31, 2024 on e-mail address: . Otherwise, the admission of the student will be considered invalid, and the room will be allocated to a next eligible applicant on a waiting list.

Change of accommodation:

All students eligible for accommodation have to move into the accommodation facility indicated in AIR. A room exchange can be requested after moving in, after prior agreement with the exchange partner, in the second half of September. You can only move to the new location after the application has been approved and the necessary administration has been completed!

Accommodation requriments - senior year students

Dear Students!

We would like to inform you that you can apply for dormitory accommodation for the academic year 2024/2025 through the Academic Information System - AIR (https://ais2.ujs.sk) by filling out the application form indicated there.

IMPORTANT!!!

It is important to pay adequate attention to filling out the scoring system!

3RD YEAR BSC STUDENTS:

Those students who start their studies in the 1st year of a Master’s degree in the 2024/2025 academic year, can apply for dormitory accommodation as future first-years after receiving the decision confirming their admission and filling out the electronic feedback.

Students who are resuming their university studies should ONLY apply to the college as prospective freshmen through the AIR. This avoids the phenomenon of duplicity.

Application deadline for seniors:
June 1, 2024 - June 30, 2024

Dormitory applications

Dormitory accommodation can only be requested via AIR (Academic Information System), by filling out the application form. Senior students are accepted electronically or through the bulletin board, while first year students are notified of the application deadlines with the help of the student office. You can find detailed information about the evaluation of applications and room allocation in AIR.

Payment of dormitory fee

The dormitory fee can only be paid by bank transfer and by students who were allocated a dormitory room.

a) in case of monthly payment (€70/month), the payment has to be realized until the last day of the month before the relevant month (two monthly fees (deposit) until August 31 and 1 month fee for September), the accommodation fee for the months of May and June will be reimbursed from the deposit

b) in the case of 6 months (half year) payment, the student is obliged to pay the amount of two month fees (deposit) and the amount of five month fees for the period from September 2024 to January 2025 (inclusive), and to pay the three month fees for the period from February to June 2025 (inclusive) by January 31, until the signing of this contract. The last 2 months are reimbursed from the deposit,

Explanation: The AIR ID is a 6-digit identification number that is also used for AIR (Academic Information System) login for all students!

The slip confirming the payment of the dormitory fee must be presented when enrolling in the dormitory. In case the student cannot confirm the payment, he/she cannot enroll in the dormitory.

Electrical devices:

The following electrical devices are allowed in the dormitory room:

- refrigerator

- notebook or computer

- TV

The use of authorized electrical devices is free of charge.

The following devices are prohibited to use in the room:

- Radiator

- Immersion water heater

- Casserole / hob

Internet connection:

Internet access in the university area is free.
