Research area Examination of the economic factors affecting the spatial competitiveness of rural areas and the development of comprehensive strategic SMART development guidelines   We are currently undergoing major economic changes. In a globalised world, rural areas are witnessing a significant economic and social erosion, their natural activity has been eclipsed, their agriculture adapted to the environment, their food production based on tradition is only a vestige, and their ability to bind resources has practically disappeared. As a result, the centres are constantly being drained of resources, and the periphery is suffering from tangible impoverishment, with growing social, food, water, energy, employment and social vulnerability. In this changing context, it is becoming increasingly important to develop new development strategies and to examine the possibilities of adapting international SMART examples. My research topics are related to the study of these research directions and the reduction of territorial disparities.
